It’s so sad, it is heartbreaking, I am dreading the fact that I am actually writing this, but the Eras Tour is over.
Taylor Swift kicked off the Eras Tour over one and a half years ago, on March 17th 2023 in Arizona. Ever since that historic night, the Eras Tour has been a lifeline to all of us, the Swifties: whether we went to a show, watched a grainy livestream (or even had our show canceled!). The Eras Tour was truly magical.
However, we can’t deny it. There is no more Eras Tour. Forever. And now, two weeks since this magical experience became something in the past, there is one question that I keep asking myself: What is next for Taylor after the end of the tour? What is she going to do next?
I gathered up all of my personal predictions and hopes for everything that is next for Taylor (career-wise) from 2025 and onward.
Just to clarify, I’m not chanting “more” or pressuring Taylor to constantly put out stuff. These are just some things I believe are possible/are my own personal dream.
Finishing The Rerecording Project
Ever since 2021, Taylor has been following a pattern of two rerecordings, album, two rerecordings, album, etc. Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) were released in 2021. Midnights was released in 2022. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) were released in 2023. The Tortured Poets Department was released in 2024.
According to this pattern, Taylor would probably release the rerecordings for Reputation and Debut in 2025.
I always believed that Taylor was going to announce one of the remaining rerecordings on the final night in Vancouver, but here we are two weeks later, and to my knowledge, nothing happened.
An Eras Tour Documentary
There have been many speculations that we might be getting an Eras Tour documentary somewhere in the near future. Multiple shows were filmed, Taylor and her family were seen interviewed/followed by a camera during or after the shows, fans were interviewed and had to sign NDAs, etc.
There is so much evidence proving that a doco movie is coming soon, and honestly, it makes so much sense. This tour has probably been one of the most meaningful things that has ever happened to her. Her life changed in so many ways since it began, and it really shaped who she is.
It’s hard to believe that when the Eras Tour started Taylor had ten albums and two rerecordings. She wasn’t doing mashups, she dated Joe Alwyn and was mid-writing TTPD. I mean, that was a long time ago! Cruel Summer wasn’t even a single back then…
Taylor developed so much both as a person and a persona since March 2023, and I would love to get a movie that documents the journey she has been through in the past year and a half.
There’s also the possibility of an Eras Tour 2.0 movie, potentially featuring the TTPD set and the mashups. During her performances in Vancouver, Taylor had a camera crew with her on stage all three nights and wore the exact same outfits for each show. I don’t think they’d be filming this much if it were just for a documentary…
Eras Tour Live Album
I’ve been hoping for an Eras live album for such a long time. Taylor can’t perform songs, make them sound even more incredible on tour, and then gatekeep those live versions—that’s just mean!
Releasing a live album would be an amazing way for Taylor to preserve some of the Eras Tour magic. Whether it’s an Acoustic Set album or a full live setlist, I’d be thrilled either way.
While I don’t think the chances of a live album are very high, I do believe it’s a real possibility. And if it happens, I would probably cry.
TS12
I believe Taylor started working on her 12th album from the moment she turned in Tortured Poets. I don’t think we will be getting TS12 until the end of 2025/mid 2026, but I do believe it’s in the works.
Taylor changed her style recently, from black and white corsets to plaid, to strong colors: orange, yellow, pink, red. Colors that scream “Happiness, fun, magic.”
I believe this is going to be the theme of TS12. Happiness. Fun. Magic. Cough cough, Mr. Travis Kelce. I imagine Taylor’s next album as a mix of Speak Now and 1989, and if that’s what we are going to get I’ll be more than delighted. That said, I think we still have some time before it arrives.
Film Industry
For the past couple of years, Taylor has started to focus more and more on directing. Ever since 2020, she has directed all of her music videos (except for I Bet You Think About Me) and a short film.
It seems to me that Taylor really wants an Oscar. She wanted it ever since 2021, when she tried to get the ATW film nominated for Live-Action Short Movie, but was snubbed. She had a very high profile campaign during that period of time, and I believe a part of her hasn’t given up on the directing idea again.
I would love it if Taylor ever decides to make a movie, as long as she doesn’t do everything by herself, and lets other people help her. Taylor tends to be very independent when she creates things, and while it’s a good thing, I do believe that she would need lots of help from many people to make sure she doesn’t go a little too nuts.
If Taylor decides she doesn’t want to pursue a directing career, I think there’s a chance she’ll try to pursue an acting career again.
We all remember the disappointing films Taylor has acted in (Cats, The Giver, etc.), and while some people might think acting isn’t her strong suit, I disagree. Taylor’s natural humor, charm, and ability to keep a straight face have been proven in the past, and I think she could channel those traits into an acting career.
The real issue seems to be the projects she chose rather than her talent. If she works with the right director and script, I believe she could proudly add “actress” to her resume. I’d love to see her and Travis act together someday—perhaps even with Taylor making a guest appearance in future seasons of his show, Grotesquerie.
It’s hard to believe that the Eras Tour is really over. A part of me still refuses to move on—I’m checking Swift Alert daily out of habit, endlessly rewatching videos from the tour. But slowly, it’s starting to hit me.
Now that the tour has ended, I’ve found myself putting more effort into school, which is both funny and a little sad. One chapter of my life has closed, and a new one is just beginning. Even though it’s so bittersweet to live without the Eras Tour, there’s also something exciting about this new era we are entering.
girl I missed your bloggg
